Welcome to Buckler Car and Karts forum / FaceBook
« Last post by Simon on May 21, 2019, 02:01:45 PM »
The Buckler Facebook pages has largely taken over for this forum.
There have been some concerns raised about useful information going missing.
David assures us that it is still available by using the facebook search
but if you wish to duplicate it here...please feel free...
Any dodgy modern electric storage may fail without warning...just like Lucas electrics I suppose..
So backing up to this site may help...

Lucas replacement smoke is now available on ebay, so i'm told, make sure it is genuine smoke, not the cheap imported stuff

Entries for the Manx Classic Three Hills need to be in during March otherwise a late entry fee of £50 will be applied. So, if you intend to compete, please put your skates on and also let our Competition Secretary, Keith Thomas, know of your intention.

It has been brought to our attention that there is some dodgy cast 'new' oil pumps on the market.
the casting on some of these is very poor...holes where there shouldn't be, dirt, casting sand, swarf etc where it should never be
if using a 'new' pump please strip clean and sanitise and check all is well with porosity.
i just checked mine with an airline and discovered a proper fissure you could see daylight through!

Thanks very much for re-joining me to this forum. I previously posted as Sir Clip and Embuc.

I have owned Buckler cars and a kart, starting from 1972. The attached photo tells my story very briefly.

All the Bucklers I have owned have, to my joy, since been improved or fully restored by subsequent owners apart from the Backbone Prototype, which was in excellent condition but now sadly missing, last seen in Sienna Italy.

I now only have my Mk 5 known as "Amy" after her original registration. She is a suitable car for my advancing years and my wife and I have enjoyed/endured many touring adventures in her.

Sound like they might be valve springs
i believe it was a common tweak for those with strong legs!

Add your tech tips here / E93A clutch springs
« Last post by david.montgomery@waitrose on March 06, 2018, 05:16:12 PM »
Asking on behalf of a register member who is not computer literate. His car is fitted with an E93A engine. He has established that a van pressure plate assembly and driven plate are fitted. Three of the six springs in the clutch have inner springs. Are these three inner springs a standard Ford fitment for the van clutch or are they an addition as recommended by Bucklers?
The clutch is serviceable for the time being but, the owner asks, if he should wish to refurbish the springs what is their specification and who could carry out the work of fitting them?
